Collective Worship

Collective worship is a very important part of life at our school, giving us the opportunity to come together as a community to reflect, celebrate and share our values.

We gather for whole school worship on Mondays. During the week each class also takes part in classroom worship every week, following the same focus as our whole school theme. Throughout the year, every class also leads a class assembly on a Thursday, giving children the opportunity to share their learning and experiences with others.

A key part of our week is our Celebration Worship, where we recognise and celebrate the achievements of our children. These take place as follows:

• EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 – led by Miss Lenton on Tuesdays
• Key Stage 2 – led by Mrs Attwood on Fridays

During these special assemblies, we celebrate our William Law Powers, recognise Good Work and share successes in learning. This includes achievements in:

• Numbots (EYFS and Key Stage 1)
• Times Tables Rock Stars (Key Stage 2)
• Reading progress and milestones

Children are also given the opportunity each week to share their achievements from outside of school. This might include sporting successes, musical accomplishments or involvement in groups such as Rainbows, Cubs, Guides and Scouts. Children are encouraged to bring in certificates, medals or badges and talk about their achievements with pride. This is a really special part of our school life, helping to build confidence, celebrate effort and recognise the wide range of talents our children have both in and out of school. We are also able to share videos of achievements, which can be emailed to the school office in advance.

Prayer Group

The William Law Prayer Group consists of staff, School Forum members, parents and friends of the school. Between six and twelve people meet virtually and pray for the school; events; staffing; issues the school is facing and school improvement plans. We welcome everyone including families with young siblings to our Group. We really appreciate the prayer for school.   

Mrs Beveridge is the lead for the Prayer Group and she looks forward to welcoming new members to the group to pray for the school.
